The record gives only "G. Quesada," a name and initial that Bain News Service staff apparently wrote on the negative or its caption card, and the Library of Congress notes that the title is unverified. The sitter or subject therefore remains unidentified, so the picture is best read through its format: a glass negative of 5 by 7 inches or smaller, the standard size for the quick news pictures and portraits that George Grantham Bain's agency supplied to newspapers in the early twentieth century. Captions from that operation often recorded little more than a name, so the blank date field is typical of the collection rather than unusual.
