Joe Sullivan, billed here as MacGreger, is the performer named on this 1907 poster for *Happy Hooligans: Trip Around the World*, a stage musical built on the comic-strip characters Frederick Burr Opper drew for newspapers. The color lithograph was produced by the U.S. Lithograph Co. with Russell-Morgan Print of Cincinnati and New York, firms that supplied many theatrical posters for touring companies in this period. Its modest size, about 46 by 36 centimeters, reflects the practical scale of paper meant to catch the eye on a theater front or city billboard as shows moved from town to town.
