Its title, "Forever Devils Auction," is set in large type above the bill, and the printed caption, "Everything new but the title," tells the audience the show was a fresh production under an old name. The sheet was lithographed in black and white in 1899 by the U.S. Printing Co. of Cincinnati and New York, and it bears the Russell-Morgan Print imprint. Charles H. Yale, named in the record, was a theatrical producer whose name was attached to touring entertainments of the period. Posters like this one were meant to be read quickly from a street wall, so the wording does much of the work.
