The record gives a single date, February 22, 1967, and no venue, so the setting has to be read from the picture and the band's timeline. The Beatles had stopped touring by then. Their last public concert was at Candlestick Park in San Francisco in August 1966, and through 1967 they concentrated on the recording studio. A stage image from this year therefore shows a group working in a different mode from the arena tours of their earlier career, and the surroundings are worth examining for clues about where it was taken.
