Few recruiting posters promised a trade as plainly as this one, which invites men to become expert auto mechanics and repairmen through the Motor Transport Corps Training School. George Carlson's 1919 color lithograph leaves a blank space for the address of a local recruiting office, so the same design could be posted in any town. The Motor Transport Corps handled the Army's trucks and other motor vehicles, and the promise to earn while you learn appealed to young men weighing work after the war.
