This 1971 poster states its aim in Spanish: self-determination for all Latinas and Latinos, and solidarity with Latin America. The handwritten "Herminio 71" on the back suggests a personal hand in its making or circulation, though the record does not say who Herminio was. In the early 1970s, Latino organizers in the United States often linked local struggles for community control and civil rights to anti-imperialist movements across the hemisphere, and posters like this one carried those ideas into community centers, campuses, and street demonstrations. Gary Yanker is credited as the donor.
