A full-length portrait of General Campa, standing with members of his Insurrecto staff, shows a Mexican revolutionary commander posed in front of his officers around 1912. The American Press Association, a news photo service that supplied images to newspapers, made the picture, so it was likely meant for publication in the United States, where interest in the Mexican Revolution ran high. The date and identification come from an old caption card and have not been independently verified, so the exact occasion remains uncertain. The revolution began in 1910 against the long rule of Porfirio Díaz and produced many regional commanders whose staffs and uniforms varied widely.
