Titled "The Morning after the night before," this card is a stereograph, meaning it holds two nearly identical photographs side by side that merge into a single three-dimensional view when seen through a stereoscope. Exhibit Supply Co. issued numbered series of these cards around 1923, and the "No. 15" on this one marks its place in such a set. Stereoviews of this kind were sold for parlor viewers and coin-operated machines, and the glamour subjects of the 1920s were popular with buyers even as they tested the public standards of the day. The record gives little more about the specific sitter or setting, so the card is best read as a window onto the commercial imagery of its period.
