A color poster for *Roberta*, the 1935 RKO musical, places Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers and Randolph Scott together as its headline performers. The film was adapted from Jerome Kern's 1933 Broadway show, which was built around Parisian fashion-house intrigue and a love story rather than the dance team that later made Astaire and Rogers famous. Their pairing in this film was a key step in their partnership, and posters like this one show how studios marketed such films to audiences in the mid-1930s.
