The poster's line "Your limit is not too much" asks donors to give generously, and "All for our boys" names who the money was meant to help: American servicemen in France and at home. It advertised the United War Work Campaign, a combined fundraising drive in which several wartime relief organizations, including the YMCA, the YWCA, and the Salvation Army, pooled their appeals to raise money for troop welfare. The record dates the print to about 1917, but the campaign itself was held in late 1918, so the poster reflects the final months of American participation in World War I. Its emphasis on personal sacrifice shows how the government and charities turned home-front giving into a patriotic duty.
