Advertising a camp counselor training course at Washington University in St. Louis sets this silkscreen poster apart from the many WPA posters that promoted public health or theater productions. Produced in 1936 under the Federal Art Project, it reflects the era's broader effort to prepare young people for jobs in summer camps and recreation programs. Silkscreen allowed the project to print bold, flat areas of color in short runs, and a January 29, 1941 date stamp on the back shows the board was handled several years after it was made.
