A halftone reproduction of a drawing that ran on page 3 of *Puck* on July 25, 1906, this print carries the copyright line of Keppler & Schwarzmann, the firm that published the satirical weekly. *Puck*, founded in 1877, was known for its lavish cartoons, and by the early 1900s the halftone process let magazines reproduce pen-and-ink and wash drawings cheaply on the page. The Catskills, a range in southeastern New York, had drawn artists and vacationers since the 1820s, when the Hudson River School painters made them a subject. The record does not describe the drawing's content, so the scene itself should be read against the magazine's commentary on the period.
