Printed for a two-week civic celebration in Cincinnati, September 7 to 19, 1903, this chromolithograph advertises the fall festival with a color design built around fashionably dressed women and their jewelry. The Strobridge Lithographing Company, based in Cincinnati with an office in New York, was one of the most prolific American poster printers of the period, and its multi-stone color work was valued for bright, flat areas of ink. Posters like this were pasted on streets, shop windows and streetcars to draw crowds, and they now preserve the fashions and commercial art of the early 1900s.
