A young woman with a club is the focus of this c1906 print, titled simply "Golf girl." The "Golf girl" pictures of that era were popular commercial images, and this one bears a copyright line from Celebrity Arts, a studio that issued photographic prints. By the early 1900s, women were taking up golf in growing numbers in the United States and Britain, and the sport gave them a rare public setting for athletic poise in long skirts and tailored shirtwaists. The catalog data comes from an old caption card and has not been verified, so details of the sitter and the setting remain uncertain.
