Donald J. Ross, the Scottish-born golf professional, is captured at the finish of a drive, a moment that a stereograph card could render in depth when viewed through a stereoscope. Ross emigrated to the United States in 1899 and became one of the country's leading club professionals and course designers, later laying out Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina. Stereographs were a popular form of home entertainment in the 1910s, and this card offers a close look at the full follow-through, a form that instructors of the period often stressed.
