Cleveland Hoadley Dodge, who lived from 1860 to 1926, is the subject of this halftone print, a reproduction made by a process that broke photographs into dot patterns so they could be printed in newspapers and magazines. The caption card records no date, so the occasion is unknown. Dodge was a New York businessman associated with the copper firm Phelps Dodge and a philanthropist with close ties to Princeton University. The record does not explain why the print is grouped with Cleveland material.
