This tracing-paper drawing is the design for Case Study House No. 8, nicknamed the "Bridge House," which Charles and Ray Eames created for their own home. The name refers to the way the plan links two rectangular volumes across a steep, sloping site in Pacific Palisades, California. The house was part of the Case Study House program, a series sponsored by *Arts & Architecture* magazine under editor John Entenza to showcase modern, affordable residential design after World War II. Built with standard steel framing and industrial components, it became one of the program's most celebrated works and a landmark of postwar modernism.
