Its title places Theodore Roosevelt beside the Sorocabana, the railway line serving the interior of São Paulo state in Brazil. Roosevelt traveled through Brazil in 1913 and 1914 after leaving office, and the Sorocabana was among the rail lines that carried visitors across the region. The record notes that the title comes from Bain News Service data that has not been verified, and the date is unknown. The negative is a glass plate, one of the working negatives the Bain agency produced for newspaper and wire use in the 1910s.
