Three performers in a burlesque trio are the focus here, and the caption promises "glove contests brought up to date," one of the new and startling features of the season. The poster advertises a touring production of Charles Hale Hoyt's farce *A Trip to Chinatown*, which opened in 1890 and ran for more than 600 performances in New York, one of the longest runs of its era. Printed by the U.S. Printing Co.'s Russell-Morgan shop in Cincinnati and New York, this black-and-white lithograph shows the bold, crowded style of theatrical advertising at the turn of the century. Hoyt died in 1900, the year the poster was issued.
