Catalogued under the waterfront, with the caption card noting piers, this view most likely shows the wharves and shipping along Boston Harbor. It was issued by Samuel Chamberlain, an etcher and photographer who produced copyrighted photoprints of New England subjects in the 1930s, and this one is numbered 235 in his series. The record is unverified and dated only to about 1936, so the exact location and vantage point are worth checking against the image itself. Chamberlain's series preserves how the working harbor looked in that decade.
