The title names the figures directly: Don Folias and the *negrito*, a stock comic type in Mexican popular prints, both shown as skeletons. The print is a zinc etching by José Guadalupe Posada, the Mexico City printmaker known for *calaveras*, skeleton satires sold as cheap broadsides and sheets around 1900. The caption card records no date, but Posada worked mainly from the 1880s until his death in 1913, and the image appeared in the 1979 book *Posada's Mexico*. Notice how he uses bare line and hatching to give the bones a lively, mocking energy.
