A world globe stands in this interior, which the cataloger titled a living room but which may have been a parlor, a room many households kept for guests and display. The double windows, common in northern American homes of the period, helped keep heat in during winter. The Detroit Publishing Company made this glass negative between 1900 and 1920 and sold views of towns, landscapes and everyday scenes, and this plate is marked as a duplicate. It was later given to the State Historical Society of Colorado in 1949.
