*Christmas Eve* is a 1947 crime drama built around a holiday setting, with the title promising a seasonal mood while the subjects point to swindling and a child placed in foster care. The poster lists a strong cast of George Raft, George Brent, Randolph Scott, and Ann Harding, with Joan Blondell and Reginald Denny in supporting roles. Produced by Benedict Bogeaus for United Artists and directed by Edwin L. Marin, the film reflects the postwar taste for morally tangled stories that Hollywood studios released in the late 1940s. The offset color lithograph is a typical example of the large-format promotional art used to sell such films to theater audiences.
