Glacier Point, a granite overlook rising roughly 3,200 feet above the floor of Yosemite Valley, and the thundering Yosemite Falls are paired in this stereograph, two of the valley's most famous sights. Stereo cards like this one were made to be viewed through a hand-held stereoscope, which fused two slightly offset photographs into a single three-dimensional scene. The card was copyright-registered and published by J.J. Killelea & Co., a firm that sold views of American scenery to a wide audience in the early twentieth century. Its catalog and date details come from an old caption card and have not been independently verified.
