This color poster by Frank Brangwyn advertises the Paris showroom of Samuel Bing, the dealer whose shop, L'Art Nouveau, gave the decorative movement its name. The printed text lists the wares on offer, including Louis Comfort Tiffany's art glass and bronzes by the Belgian sculptor Constantin Meunier. Brangwyn, a British artist who later became known for murals and etchings, designed the image, and the printer, Charles Verneau, is named on the sheet. Bing's gallery, which opened in 1895, drew attention to modern design that broke from historical revival styles, and posters like this one helped spread its name.
