A glass negative carrying the title "Lady Beaverbrook" survives in the George Grantham Bain Collection, though the record notes that the name comes from unverified information on the negative or its caption card, and no date is recorded. The Bain News Service, a New York agency founded by George Grantham Bain, supplied newspapers with news and society pictures in the early twentieth century, and its glass plates were often the only surviving record of those assignments. Because the sitter's identity and the sitting date are uncertain, the picture is best read as a document of the agency's portrait work, and anyone researching it should check the Library of Congress catalog for any updated attribution.
