Few advertising posters of the 1890s were as tall as this one, which stands about seven feet high and was printed in color to promote The Stormer Bicycle under the slogan in its title. It dates to 1896, the year the safety bicycle, with wheels of equal size, was overtaking the high-wheeled ordinary and drawing new riders onto two wheels. The poster was produced by a lithography firm in Cincinnati and New York, a type of shop that used color printing to make large advertisements affordable. Details here come from an old caption card and have not been independently verified.
