This 1924 glass negative, titled "Example of how work is brought to men," shows a factory scene that the title frames as a demonstration of production methods, with machinery bearing a partly legible company name. The record notes that it may belong to the Ford Motor Company series, which suggests a view of the automobile industry in the mid-1920s, when moving work to workers at stationary stations was becoming central to mass production. The Detroit Publishing Company, which made the photograph, was a commercial firm that produced views of cities, industry, and travel, and its glass plates now form a major part of the Library of Congress holdings.
