Printed with a French title, "Croix Rouge américaine," this 1918 color lithograph was aimed at a French audience, which shows how the American Red Cross presented itself in France during the last year of the war. It is signed by the American painter Waldo Peirce, who spent part of the war in France, and also carries the name of C. H. Tichon, credited as the lithographer. The poster's subject indexing points to the economic and industrial side of the war effort, so it is worth looking at how its imagery and text tried to rally support for relief work at home and abroad.
