Inside the Department of Agriculture building in Washington, a 1937 rural arts exhibition took shape under Allen Eaton, a folk arts scholar who worked with the Russell Sage Foundation. The caption card suggests Lucinda Crile may have co-curated the show with him, though the record does not confirm this and gives no exact date. The photographer, Theodor Horydczak, documented Washington's buildings and interiors over several decades, so the picture records both the display and the government setting that housed it.
