Among the Navy vessels that carried presidents, the U.S.S. Mayflower stands out: this steam yacht served as the presidential yacht for several administrations. This glass negative, dated April 25, 1925, comes from the National Photo Company, a Washington firm active in the 1910s and 1920s. The title comes from the company's own notes and has not been independently verified. The plate also shows streaks and blemishes from the breakdown of its original coating, so it reads best as a document of its era rather than a crisp record of detail.
