Jack London's *The Call of the Wild* traveled well beyond the American frontier, and this print records an Indonesian-language edition with a team of sled dogs on its cover. London's 1903 novel follows Buck, a large dog taken from a California estate and sold into hard labor pulling sleds during the Klondike gold rush of the late 1890s. The caption card gives no date, so the year of this edition is unknown, but the cover shows how a story about a domestic animal reverting to the wild reached readers on the other side of the world.
