Wooster, Ohio, in 1910 was the seat of Wayne County, a farming town in the state's north central region where grain, livestock, and dairy shaped daily life. Wooster University, the Presbyterian-founded college that drew students from across the region, was among the town's largest institutions. The Ohio Agricultural Experiment Station, established in Wooster in 1882, linked the campus to surrounding farms through research on crops and soil. Railroad lines carried produce and goods out of town, and the college and the farms together gave the community much of its character. This view shows the campus and town as residents of the decade before the First World War would have recognized them.
