Here the subject is a Zeppelin, the rigid passenger airship built by the company of Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin in Germany. The DELAG line began carrying paying passengers in cabin-equipped ships in 1910, before the First World War, and the later Graf Zeppelin made transatlantic crossings in the late 1920s. The Bain News Service, a New York picture agency, made this glass negative, but the record gives no date, and the title comes from caption data the agency supplied that has not been independently verified, so the specific ship and occasion remain uncertain.
