This lithograph advertises a German premium savings bond, promising ten annual grand prizes of one million each. Issued in 1917, when Germany was financing its war effort largely through domestic loans, the bond paid out through prize drawings rather than ordinary interest, a lottery-style lure meant to draw small savers into lending to the state. The poster's bright color and bold headline reflect the commercial advertising style of the period, and it stands as a reminder of how the home front was mobilized for the war economy. The signature "Bernhard" identifies the artist.
