Nuremberg, a medieval city in Bavaria, hosted the Nazi Party's large Reichsparteitag, or party rally, in 1933, a few months after Adolf Hitler became chancellor. The 1933 rally was billed as the Rally of Unity and Strength, and it relied on mass parades and banners to display the movement's new hold on national power. This halftone print comes from the album *Deutschland erwacht* (Germany Awakens), where it is numbered 179. Its details come from an unverified caption card, so the specific event shown should be checked against other sources.
