Its title, "We will annihilate kulaks as a class," marks this poster as a call to action rather than a scene of rural labor, unlike many of the farm pictures on this board. The Kukryniksy, a trio of Soviet artists who worked under their shared name, produced it in 1930, when the government was pressing collectivization and its campaign against the kulaks, the wealthier peasants it blamed for resisting grain requisitions and collective farms.
