A corner pharmacy in Long Beach, a resort city on the south shore of Long Island, is the subject here. Long Beach grew quickly after rail service and a boardwalk drew summer visitors around the turn of the twentieth century, so neighborhood drugstores like this one served both year-round residents and seasonal crowds.
