Across from Union Station, the YWCA's Blue Triangle house offered rest and practical information to women and girls passing through the city, and this lithograph promotes that service. The Association's blue triangle emblem marked its wartime hostels, which were set up near railroads and military sites as women moved in large numbers into war industries and toward soldiers' camps. Posters like this one, dated to around 1917 or 1918, asked the public to support that work and to direct young women to a safe place to stop. Its plain, direct address to women and girls shows how seriously wartime organizers took their welfare.
