The slogan "Help us put the Blue Triangle over the top!" marks this as a fundraising appeal for the Young Women's Christian Association, whose blue triangle was its emblem. The poster addresses the Girl Reserves, the YWCA's program for teenage girls, and asks them to help the organization reach its campaign goal during the First World War. It was issued by the Committee on Public Information's Division of Pictorial Publicity, the federal office that produced many wartime posters. Its emphasis on girls' sports reflects the period's growing interest in athletics and physical training for young women.
