The only identifier for this glass negative is its title, U-LLL, a code-like string rather than a place or name, so the subject cannot be confirmed from the record. The negative belongs to the George Grantham Bain Collection and was made by the Bain News Service, a New York agency that supplied news photographs to newspapers in the early twentieth century. Its titles were sometimes recorded on caption cards that became separated from the negatives, which is why many images in the collection carry provisional labels.
