A December 16, 1925, exhibition of antiques and heirlooms at a public library is the subject of this small glass negative from the National Photo Company's documentary collection. Community displays of family furniture, silver, and keepsakes were a popular way in the 1920s to celebrate local history and the objects families had kept across generations. Herbert A. French gave the negative to the Library of Congress in 1947. Streaks and other blemishes are visible, the result of natural deterioration in the original coatings on the glass.
