An exhibit by the Junior Red Cross, dated November 11, 1922, falls on the fourth anniversary of the Armistice that ended World War I. The Junior Red Cross grew out of the American Red Cross's wartime work with schoolchildren, who knitted, rolled bandages and raised funds, and the program continued afterward as a school-based service effort. The National Photo Company, a Washington, D.C., commercial studio, recorded the city's events and people on large glass negatives during the 1910s and 1920s.
