This lithograph carries no printed text, so the red cross emblem and the scene of soldiers under care make the appeal on their own. Library of Congress staff devised the title, which suggests the print was meant to be understood at a glance. By 1915 the British Red Cross Society was running fundraising campaigns alongside its growing wartime medical work, and posters like this one helped keep donations coming as casualties mounted.
