Printed on clear polyester film rather than paper, this screen print is number six in *Inventions: Twelve Around One*, a portfolio Buckminster Fuller issued through Cincinnati's Carl Solway Gallery around 1981. The image shows the geodesic dome, a lightweight structure of interlocking triangles that Fuller developed and patented in the early 1950s; his filing from December 1951 is noted in the record. Fuller promoted the design for its strength and its ability to enclose large spaces with little material, and it was later used for radar shelters, exhibition buildings, and houses. The print was later reproduced in *Eyes of the Nation*, a 1997 survey of American visual history.
