Carole Landis and George Montgomery, both Twentieth Century-Fox contract players, are the names attached to this color poster for *Cadet Girl*, a 1941 studio release. Landis was building her reputation as a leading lady in these years, and Montgomery, a former model, was early in an acting career that would take him into westerns. The poster dates from the period when the United States was still months away from entering the Second World War, and Hollywood's wartime-themed and service-related films were drawing large audiences. Its bold color and star billing show how studios marketed young contract players to moviegoers.
