The slogan "Lasst Euch nichts vormachen, bleibt bei Deutschland!" translates as "Don't let yourselves be fooled, stay with Germany!" It was printed in Berlin in 1919, the year the Treaty of Versailles was signed. Its subjects point to the contested eastern frontier with Poland, where German-speaking areas such as parts of Upper Silesia and West Prussia faced transfer to the new Polish state, and appeals like this one urged residents to reject that change. The color lithography and direct, personal address show how widely such campaigns were used in the postwar period.
