Printed in Boston, this Victory Liberty Loan poster carries the title "Americans All!" over a bold color design by illustrator Howard Chandler Christy, whose polished, wholesome figures made him one of the best-known commercial artists of his day. The Victory Liberty Loan was the final war bond drive of 1919, held after the armistice to help the government pay the heavy costs of World War I. Posters like this one asked ordinary citizens to lend money to the nation, turning financing into a civic duty long after the fighting had stopped.
