This stereograph shows a display of porcelain and decorative urns, labeled "Daniel's china ware," photographed at the Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia. The 1876 fair, held in Fairmount Park to mark the nation's hundredth anniversary, drew millions of visitors and showcased manufactured goods, ceramics, and decorative arts from the United States and abroad. Cards like this were sold as souvenirs and viewed through a stereoscope, which gave the scene a sense of depth. The exhibition's ceramics and vessels show the taste and craftsmanship that companies used to promote their wares to a wide public.
