Unlike most pictures on this board, this poster has no drawing at all. Its appeal rests entirely on text framed as a letter addressed "To my people." The record gives no printer, only a 1915 date, but the format fits Britain's voluntary recruiting drive of that year, when the army depended on men enlisting before conscription arrived in 1916. The personal, direct address was likely meant to make a family member's plea feel immediate to the reader.
